A Wardrobe of Eight
The case for fewer, better pieces — and a guide to building one.

Eight pieces. That is roughly the size of a wardrobe that gets out of your way. Two trousers, two tees, a shirt, a knit, a coat, and one pair of shoes that does most of the work.
The catch is that each of the eight has to be considered. The cotton has to be right. The trouser has to drape. The coat has to carry weight.
Building this kind of wardrobe is slow. It is also the most freeing thing you can do for the way you dress.
